BACA president receives Indonesian parliamentary delegation

Manama, Mar.6 (BNA): President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received here today a delegation from the Indonesian parliament, headed by Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia and Chairman of the Bahraini-Indonesian Friendship Group Asep Maoshul, in the presence of Chairman of the Parliamentary Services Committee MP Abbas Al-Madhi. This meeting comes within the programme of the Indonesian delegation's visit to the Council of Representatives in order to promote cooperation in various fields. Shaikha Mai said that the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen on consolidating its status as a canter for civilizations meeting and cultural exchange among the countries of the world. She highlighted Indonesia's presence in the Bahraini cultural movement through various activities and said that the Indonesian Embassy cooperates with BACA in order to enrich the Bahraini cultural scene. Maoshul expressed thanks to Shaikha Mai for the warm welcome and affirmed that one of the most important objectives of the Bahraini-Indonesian Friendship Group is to promote humanitarian and cultural bilateral relations. The delegation paid a visit to Bahrain National Museum and was informed about the most prominent aspects of the museum at preserving and promoting the local culture's status and national heritage.
