BACA president receives Japanese ambassador

Manama, May 10 (BNA): President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received here today the Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain, Hideki Ito. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation to achieve joint cultural and civilisational projects. BACA president lauded the effective role played by the Japanese Embassy to enrich the cultural movement in the kingdom, noting that the culture is a bridge that reduces distances between peoples. She updated the ambassador about the latest cultural developments in kingdom, including BACA’s preparations to host the 42nd meeting of the World Heritage Committee in June, in addition to its preparations to launch this year’s Bahrain Summer Festival edition. The Japanese envoy lauded Bahrain’s cultural movement and rich civilisational heritage, expressing his readiness to contribute to enriching Bahrain’s cultural atmosphere and increasing cultural exchange between the two friendly countries.
