BACA president receives Louvre official

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 5 (BNA): Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), today received Marielle Pic, Director of ME Antiquities Department of the Parisian Louvre Museum. Shaikha Mai affirmed the significant role of museums in preservation and documentation of human civilisations and heritage. The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) seeks to develop its cultural infrastructures and establish museums to mirror the Kingdom of Bahrain’s rich history to its visitors, according to BACA president. Shaikha Mai added that Bahrain National Museum is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its foundation and continues to host international museum shows. BACA president pointed out that the cooperation with the Louvre Museum in promoting National Museum artefacts that narrate the tale of civilisations dating back to several millennia. The two sides discussed their mutual cooperation and partnership so that the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi, UAE will showcase antiquities from Bahrain National Museum.
