Bahrain’s business potential outlined

Manama, Mar. 4 (BNA): Industry, Commerce and Industry Minister Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani highlighted Bahrain’s economic and tourism potential. Receiving a group of students from US Northeastern University, he underlined the Government’s keenness on spurring growth through ambitious strategies and visions. The meeting was attended by Northeastern University Associate Vice President of Interdisciplinary Initiatives and Special Projects Robert Dietrich, Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group managing director Badr Abdulaziz Kanoo, Assistant Undersecretary for External Commerce Eman Ahmed and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) development director Sheikha Abdulla Al-Fadhel. The minister stressed Bahrain’s openness on cultures and religions, which bolstered its standing as an attractive destination for investors and tourists. He underlined the business-friendly economic outlook and modern infrastructure which, he said, turned Bahrain into a platform, incubating dozens of mega industrial and service projects. He outlined the Government-supported initiatives launched by the ministry in the fields of commerce, industry and tourism, which consolidated Bahrain’s economic standing in the international arena. "The Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) make up 99.3 percent of the overall number of standing projects", he said, stressed increasing number of tourism events which emanate from the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) strategy and vision. The ministry organized Northeastern University students’ visits to Bahrain Bourse, the Investors’ Centre and The Metals and Precious Stones Inspection Department.
