Bahrain’s democratic and parliamentary strides highlighted

Manama, Jan. 5 (BNA): The Council of Representatives’s Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee held a session of talks with European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman, David McAllister, on the occasion of his visit to the kingdom of Bahrain on January 5-6.
Chaired by Mp Mohammed Ibrahim El Sisi, the panel highlighted Bahrain’s development and parliamentary strides in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
It stressed Bahrain’s approach which is based on the principles of human rights, the culture of coexistence, peace and openness and the consolidation of public and religious liberties.
It noted in this regard the launch of King Hamad Chair for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Co-Existence at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.
The committee underlined Bahrain’s parliamentary support to national efforts during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), optimising the use of modern technologies to hold virtual sessions.
It underlined the Council of Representatives’ keenness on coordination with other parliaments of friendly countries, particularly the European Parliament.
It highlighted Bahrain’s efforts and wide-ranging achievements under the reform project by HM the King, stressing the importance of building bridges of friendship and cooperation with other parliaments in the world.
European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman, David McAllister stressed the importance of getting informed about Bahrain’s parliamentary and democratic stries, hailing HM theKing’s wise visions.
