Bahrain’s landmark strides hailed
Manama, July30 (BNA): Bahrain’s landmark strides in combating human trafficking have won praise. Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (Al-Hurr) described the Kingdom’s achievements as being unprecedented in the region. It saluted the Bahrain’s tangible strides as the international community marks the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, approved by the UN General Assembly in 2013, and observed worldwide every July 30. "Bahrain has become a role model in the treatment of expatriate workers", said Al-Hurr in a statement issued today, commending the Government’s quick response to address labour-related issues.
Al-Hurr stressed its strenuous efforts to liaise with the three relevant parties to deal with contentious labour issues, underlining the successes achieved in this regard. "Bahrain has achieved landmark strides and surpassed all countries in the region in combating aspects of human trafficking", it said, highlighting Bahrain’s cultural legacy and long-stranding heritage of equality between all people living on its territories.
