Bahrain’s pavilion in GITEX to open on Sunday

Dubai, Oct. 15 (BNA): Bahrain’s national pavilion will open Sunday at "GITEX2016" which kicks off on Sunday at Dubai World Trade Centre and continues until October 20. The pavilion includes 29 technology companies in Bahrain along with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Economic Development Board, eGovernment Authority and Tamkeen.
Bahrain is participating in the event next to 100 countries around the globe exhibiting a total of 3500 brands. The participating Bahraini companies offer its technical services and products to more than 140 thousand expected visitors for the exhibition, including 22 thousand executives and decision-makers.
Organisers of the pavilion for the tenth consecutive year are Work Smart, the renowned event-management company and the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH). The pavilion provides the opportunity to meet with Bahraini companies with each other and to engage in fruitful partnerships, while the participation of the governmental forms added value in order to explore technical needs of the public sector in Bahrain and ways to fulfilling them.
"GITEX" offers an annual opportunity for the Bahrain’s IT companies to showcase their products in regional and global markets, and the chance to develop these products in line with developments in telecommunications and information industry in the region and the world. In addition to that, the chance of finding agents for these products around the world is available on the one hand, and the chance to represent international companies which are looking for a foothold in the Bahraini market on the other.
The main goal since the start of the Bahraini participation in GITEX was to record Bahraini presence in this international forum for information technology manufacturers around the world. "Today, after 10 years of active participation, our goals became clearer and bigger. We aim to strengthen the "ICT" industry in Bahrain, raising the share of Bahraini companies from 6% to 10% in the IT investments markets in the Arabian Gulf which reached around 30 billion dollars," Ahmed Al-Hujairi, CEO of Work Smart, explained.
He pointed out that the company was keen, as it always does, to choose a perfect location for the pavilion in the exhibition. "The design of the pavilion will be open and will include a permanent display hall which will provide continuous shows about Bahrain's economic and investment features. Times will be allocated to display products and services of the participating Bahraini companies," he said.
