Bahrain affirms support for Morocco over statements

Manama, March 24 (BNA): Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received today Moroccan Ambassador to Bahrain Ahmed Rachid Khatabi. He affirmed Bahrain's support to Morocco's stance rejecting the recent statements of the UN Secretary-General about the Moroccan Sahara. He added that these statements are unacceptable and legally baseless, reiterating Bahrain's principled stance in supporting Morocco and its initiative pertaining to autonomy in the Moroccan Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty and the unity of the Moroccan territory and in accordance with international legitimacy. The Moroccan ambassador expressed thanks and appreciation of Bahrain's unwavering stance, voicing pride in the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two countries and their people at all levels.
