Bahrain ambassador hails Al-Ahsa Oasis registration

Manama, July 9 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Hamoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, President of the Board of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and to His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, on the occasion of the registration of Al-Ahsa Oasis as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This occurred during a press statement made by the Ambassador after his participation in the celebration held in the traditional Caesarean market in the Eastern region yesterday (Sunday) on this historic occasion. Shaikh Hamoud praised the efforts made to achieve this goal, extending his sincere congratulations to the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to all the people of Saudi Arabia on this great achievement, noting the importance of Al-Ahsa throughout history as a forum for ancient civilizations and trade routes, an important part of the heart of the Arabian Peninsula and a major economic port of the Najd region and northeast of Saudi Arabia. The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, President of the Board of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Governor of the Eastern Region. The ceremony was attended by a number of Royals and Ministers and a number of Arab and foreign Ambassadors and media professionals. During the ceremony, the Governor of the Eastern Region launched a number of projects of the Board of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage in the field of urban heritage and museums in Al-Ahsa. The patrons also honored the Al-Ahsa Oasis registration team and thanked them for their productive efforts.(MOFA)
