Bahrain attends 7th UNAOC Forum

Baku, Apr 26 (BNA): Parliament Affairs Minister Ghanim bin Fadhl Al-Buainain today represented Bahrain in the opening of the seventh Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event is being held under the title "Living Together in Inclusive Societies: A Challenge and A Goal." President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan inaugurated the forum in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, and UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, Nasser Al-Nasser. In their speeches they all focused on promoting coexistence of civilizations, rejecting extremism and discourse of hatred and achieving peace, security and sustainable development for the benefit of the world peoples. A number of heads of states and governments and ministers, as well as 1494 figures representing 140 countries and organisations also attended the opening of the forum.
