Bahrain attends Arab journalists’ conference in Tunis

Tunis, May 21 (BNA): The 13th conference of the Arab Journalists’ Federation opened today in Tunis, under the patronage of Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid. A delegation led by Bahrain Journalists’ Association (BJA) Chairman Moa’nes Al-Mardi is taking part in the pan-Arab event, being attended by more than 300 Arab personalities. Addressing the opening ceremony, Essid stressed the crucial role of the federation as well as its efforts to promote journalism in the Arab World to support development. He urged journalists to double efforts to enhance social awareness, back governments and social society institutions in confronting denting challenges, particularly the scourge of terrorism. The pan-Arab conference is being held under the slogan "No to impunity in crimes against journalists". Tunisian Journalists’ Trade Union Chairman Neji Baghouri, Arab Journalists’ Federation President Moayyed Allami and International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) President Jim Boumelha also addressed the conference.
