Bahrain attends forum in Switzerland

Geneva, Apr.17 (BNA): Public Security Assistant Chief for Operations Affairs and Training Brigadier Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa led a delegation from the Interior Ministry to attend a forum themed "International Relations during Crises and Disasters. The three-day event, which opened today in Geneva, Switzerland, is organized by the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), in cooperation with the International Civil Defence Organisation. Brig. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa presented a paper themed "Balanced management of international relations during Bahrain’s crisis 2011". He focused mainly on the scourge of terrorism, shedding light on other concepts such as creative chaos, soft power and the so-called fourth generation wars. He outlined the historical background underpinning the events which occurred in Bahrain in February 2011, unfolding into acts of terrorism targeting innocent people. Brig. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa spotlighted the values and principles enshrined in the reform project, which was initiated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, who adopted a wise approach in managing the crisis internally. He underlined the policy which was adopted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in managing its regional and international relations during the crisis, outlining the procedures which were undertaken then by the Government to contain the situation, overcome the post-crisis pitfalls, and restore normalcy. The forum is being attended by officials representing the ministries of interior, education, oil and energy in Arab countries, in addition to Arab, regional and international organisations. The symposium aims at bolstering international relations and stressing the crucial role of regional and global cooperation during crises and disasters to contain their pitfalls.
