Bahrain attends GCC tourism meeting

Doha, May 13 (BNA): The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) undersecretaries in charge of tourism convened for their meeting in Doha, Qatar. Industry and Commerce Ministry Assistant-Undersecretary for Tourism, Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa attended the session which focused on revitalizing the hospitality industry in cooperation with the private sector. The delegations discussed proposals which aim at removing the obstacles impeding tourism cooperation between relevant ministries and other concerned parties. They explored the possibility of hosting a forum on GCC tourism monuments, in addition to an exhibition which showcases traditional handicrafts which characterize member states. The GCC officials also welcomed Bahrain's proposal to hold a workshop in Manama in July on revitalizing tourism cooperation between member states.
