Bahrain attends GCC tourism meeting

Riyadh, Oct. 10 (BNA): Bahrain attended the meeting of the GCC undersecretaries in charge of the tourism portfolio in Riyadh. Bahrain Authority for Tourism and Exhibitions (BATE) Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa led Bahrain’s delegation to the session, on the eve of the 3rd meeting of the GCC ministers in charge of tourism on Wednesday. The preparatory meeting discussed ways of developing the tourism sector in the GCC member countries and achieving the pre-set strategic goals. Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa said that the meeting discussed the elaboration of a joint strategy to develop the tourism sector and boost its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the GCC member countries. He said that the delegations had been updated about Bahrain’s preparation of programmes marking Manama Capital of the GCC Tourism 2016.
