Bahrain attends Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Istanbul

Istanbul, Apr.19 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Center for Strategic and International and Energy Studies (Derasat), Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, participated in the Global Entrepreneurship Congress which was attended by delegations and representatives of more than 170 countries and concluded its activities in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey today.
He affirmed, during the activities of the congress that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has succeeded in consolidating the culture of entrepreneurship, developing emerging industries and overcoming all obstacles. This took place to reinforce Bahrain’s position as a pioneer in new economic fields, and as an advanced center for entrepreneurship and innovation, thanks to the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and in the framework of a modern, evolving development model characterized by sustainability, competitiveness and equity, he added.
"What distinguishes the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this area is the royal vision which accords importance to diversifying the sources of income to yield the best economic outcomes in order to serve the citizens, especially the youth," The Undersecretary for International Affairs explained.
This is in addition to creating the basic elements that render it a real entrepreneurship incubator with the provision of the necessary funding and an ideal work environment, through the launch of initiatives, development of skills, adequate training programs and intellectual protection to achieve the highest standards of efficiency and quality, he remarked.
Dr. Abdullah also reviewed the vital role of Tamkeen in promoting entrepreneurship as one of the main options for diversifying national income, providing the economy with new sectors, creating job opportunities, increasing export, developing the community and providing it with various facilities to launch private enterprises in the EDB - set areas.
"This participation comes within the framework of Bahrain's preparations to host the Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2019, which will be an important opportunity to shed light on the Kingdom's distinctive experience as a business destination and a global center for leadership, innovation, finance, technology, logistics, international companies, foreign investment and business, in all new economic and technical fields."
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International affairs and Chairman of Derasat Board of Trustees, said the center had been keen to launch specialized workshops on sustainable development objectives as an advanced platform that presents important axes in order to spread the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship of high economic feasibility.
This, he explained was sought by encouraging institutions and young people to transform innovative ideas into products that would serve the national economy and local society. These vital indicators imply support for economic development catalysts including ideas and actions and represent an appropriate tool for the evaluation of the actions taken in this regard, he concluded.
