Bahrain attends IHL meeting in Geneva

Manama, May 14 (BNA): Bahrain is participating participated in the 4th Meeting regarding the Intergovernmental Process on Strengthening Respect for International Human Law in Geneva. The meeting, attended by Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Haidan, the Director of Legal Affairs at Foreign Affairs Ministry and member of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, on May 14-16, is co-organised by the Government of the Swiss Confederation and the International Committee of the Red Cross. The aim of this meeting is to promote dialogue among countries in the field of international humanitarian law by discussing the proposals of the intergovernmental process on strengthening respect for international human law and to develop a comprehensive framework for the future as well as implement the resolutions of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. The fifth meeting regarding the Intergovernmental Process on Strengthening Respect for International Human Law is scheduled to be held in December this year.
