Bahrain-Brazil ties discussed

Manama, July 2 (BNA): The first meeting of political consultations between Bahrain and Brazil was held today at the General Court of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was co-chaired by the Undersecretary for International Affairs of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on behalf of Bahrain, and the Undersecretary General for Africa and the Middle East at Foreign Affairs Ministry of Brazil, Ambassador Fernando José Marroni de Abreu. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah welcomed the Brazilian delegation, stressing that the Kingdom attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation relations. A memorandum of understanding on political consultations was signed between the two countries that boosts cooperation in all fields. The meeting exchanged common views on current regional and international concerns, particularly combating extremism and terrorism. He reviewed the achievements and gains of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in establishing the foundations of the state of law and institutions to achieve stability, development, and prosperity. He pointed out that the Kingdom represents an international model in terms of tolerance, religion, and public freedoms and sustainable development. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah highlighted the availability of investment opportunities in Bahrain in its capacity as a financial and entrepreneurship hub and the main trade gateway in the region. He also noted the success of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 in diversifying sources of income and attracting technical and financial technology- based services. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah called on all countries to work on undermining global peace and security. The ambassador expressed his country's aspiration for further cooperation with Bahrain. He also valued the leading responsible role played by the Kingdom to consolidate peace in the region and lauded Bahrain’s successful development plans, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
