Bahrain chairs key Arab meeting

Cairo, Aug. 1 (BNA): The 38th meeting of senior Arab officials on nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction (WMD) kicked off today at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo under the chairmanship of Bahrain Foreign Ministry Arab Affairs Director Abdulhamid Hassan. The Saudi delegation was headed by Foreign Ministry Disarmament Director Sa’ad Al Sa’ad. Arab League Assistant Secretary General and Head of the National Security Sector Khalil Al Dhawadi said the Arab region is undergoing a crucial and sensitive phase in which the Arab national security is facing major challenges, including mainly the Israeli nuclear weapons. He pointed out that many issues related to nuclear weapons and WMD will be discussed at the meeting.
