Bahrain deposits accession instrument of key UN convention

12 : 00 AM - 12/03/2016 New York, Mar. 11 (BNA): Based on Law 1/2016 ratified and issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa , Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Ruwaie, today deposited the instrument of the Kingdom’s accession to Convention on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons Which May be Deemed to be Excessively Injurious or to Have Indiscriminate Effects, endorsed in Geneva in October 1980, alongside its third, fourth and fifth protocols, with the conventions’ depository at the UN headquarters. The move confirms Bahrain’s commitment to international conventions aiming to promote global security and peace.
