Bahrain firm stance against terrorism highlighted

Manama, May 12 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al-Rowa'i, reiterated Bahrain's firm stance on rejecting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Addressing the UN Security Council's open discussion session on countering terrorism and its ideologies, Ambassador Al-Rowa'i pointed HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's respect for Al-Azhar's leading role in standing against alien intellectual challenges, as well as its efforts in promoting the ideology of moderation and fairness that reflects the Islamic values of tolerance and rejection of all forms of extremism.
Al-Rowa'i said that facing terrorist groups requires consistent security, military and intellectual efforts to combat extremist ideologies that are contrary to the humanitarian values and Islamic principles. He also noted the need to drying up the sources of financing terrorism to eliminate terrorists recruitment efforts target foreign fighters.
He pointed out the deterrent procedures and laws on combating terrorism adopted by the Kingdom of Bahrain. He highlighted Bahrain's participation in the international coalition operations against Daash, workgroup on combating financing of Daash, and in the international coalition's communication workgroup.
He added that Bahrain has adopted the terrorist organizations list recognized globally that includes Daash, Al-Qaeda and the terrorist group of Hezbollah.
