Bahrain guest of honour at Hungary film festival

Manama, Sept. 1 (BNA): The Isa Cultural Centre has announced that Bahrain will be the guest of honour of the Seven Hills International Film Festival (SHIFF), due to be held in Hungary. A ‘Bahrain Day’ will be held during the event which will attract more than 4,000 authors, script writers, directors and filmmakers from all over the world. Through its participation, the Isa Cultural Centre aims to convey the culture of tolerance and co-existence emanating from the reality of the Bahraini society though music as an influential tool and universal language. Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Executive Director of the Isa Cultural Centre, and Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence, Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, said that the Isa Cultural Centre is participating in the celebration at the official invitation of the management of the annual SHIFF, held on September 3-9, following the designation of the centre to represent the kingdom as a guest of honour. More than 120 photographs and paintings, made by brilliant Bahraini talents, and showcasing Bahrain’s reality, landmarks and rich history will be presented in the gallery to be held on the sidelines of the ‘Bahrain Day’, he said. Dr. Shaikh Khalid pointed out that the event is within the kingdom’s efforts to spread the values and culture of tolerance and peaceful co-existence sprearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. "Out of our belief that music is a universal language that is effective and influential in the consciousness of the peoples of the world, HM King Hamad’s message and scenes from the history and culture of Bahrain will be presented in a musical form performed by the Bahraini Maestro Waheed Al-Khan through the orchestral tunes of his album, ‘Return’, translating the values and memories inspired by the reality of co-existence in Bahraini society in the present and the past," he added.
