Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prix to be held tomorrow

Manama, June 2 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs will organise tomorrow Sunday the concluding ceremony of the 23rd edition of Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prix after Taraweeh prayer at Ahmed Al Fateh Mosque. The ceremony will be attended by Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
The Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs Dr. Farid bin Yaqoob Al Meftah said the contest , held for the 23rd year running since its inception in the era of late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa in 1996, has been organised under the patronage of HM the King since his accession to the throne in 1999. He added the competition enjoys community partnership with the Education Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the Labour and Social Development Ministry. He also pointed out that a new branch has been created in the current edition under the name Salman Al-Ferisi Contest which is aimed at non-Arabic-speaking contestants. He noted that the competition is named after the companion of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) Salman Al Ferisi.
