Manama, Mar. 21 (BNA): Tamkeen - i.e. the Labour Fund - said it had received 99 applications form Bahraini entrepreneurs wishing to participate in Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0. Held under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and the Duke of York HRH Prince Andrew, Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0 aims to guide, help, and connect Entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses from across the Kingdom with potential supporters, including CEOs, influencers, investors, mentors and business partners. The Duke of York founded Pitch@Palace in 2014 to provide a platform to amplify and accelerate the work of Entrepreneurs. Hosting this event reflects the Bahraini government’s commitment to promoting innovation within the private sector as a key driver of economic growth in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. Tamkeen’s Chief Executive Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi stressed Tamkeen’s keenness in supporting the participation of Bahraini entrepreneurs in this program as part of its key objectives. "This programme provides Bahrainis with a unique opportunity to develop and grow themselves as well as their businesses, and foster creativity and innovation in the private sector, which will ultimately positively impact the Bahraini economic environment," Dr. Janahi pointed out. The programme is organized in strategic partnership with the Economic Development Board, Bahraini Development Bank, and participants will be provided with customized solutions supporting their participation including a suite of services such as advisory, mentorship, grants and tie ups with incubators and accelerators. Twelve entrepreneurs will be selected from the applicants to attend the Pitch@Palace Boot Camp in Bahrain in March this year. The Entrepreneurs will receive guidance on how to develop and hone their pitch, as well as support with investment and introductions. The twelve entrepreneurs will give a three-minute Pitch to an influential Audience from the worlds of entrepreneurship, technology, media and investment at Pitch@Palace Bahrain 1.0 to be held on 5 April at the Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Fateh Fort in Riffa. The winners will be selected by an audience vote and will be invited to Pitch at Pitch@Palace Global, which takes place at St. James's Palace in London, UK in December 2018. All twelve entrepreneurs will join the growing Pitch@Palace Alumni network and receive ongoing support.
