Bahrain hosts GEO 2018

Manama, Mar. 4 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, Bahrain is hosting the 13th Middle East conference and exhibition of the geological sciences (GEO 2018).
More than 3,500 global energy leaders and partners and executives are participating in the event from 50 countries which will be held at Bahrain International Exhibition Centre March 5-8.
They will discuss the important strategic and available commercial opportunities; under the title of "pushing the technical boundary: drawing a picture of energy."
The conference is organized by UBM – Arabian Exhibition and the American Society of Petroleum Geology and the European Association for scientists and engineers of Geology, Exploration scientists with the support of the organizing committee of the national oil companies and associations of independent geological and Emirates Society for Earth Science, and the Bahraini society of earth science and Geological Society of Oman, with the association and cooperation with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) under the auspices of a number of global and regional oil companies.
Oil Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister on sponsoring this important event since its launch in 1994, which reflected the concern of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain to provide maximum support for this type of specialized events for the benefit of the cognitive and developmental economic system dedicated to the principle of exchange of information, experience and expertise and participation in building capacity and skills. As well as to refine the skills and expertise of the human element represents a fundamental pillar of the sustainable development process.
The conference program includes more than 420 speakers that are focusing on geological studies and the challenges of the reservoirs, and the role of earth science in the environment and safety risk management and innovation. The main activities include the opening session at the ministerial level, workshops and daily discussion led by senior executives, technical meetings among peers, and a program of activities designed for students and young professionals.
More than 100 companies from 19 countries are participating in this event which lasts for 3 days. It features the International Exhibition, with an area of 6,000 square meters, the participation of the leading national and international oil companies and review of modern equipment and machinery, as well as technological developments and innovative services in the exploration and production of oil and gas.
The minister stressed that this conference is one of the most prominent events in the area of Geological Sciences in the Middle East. Where most of the global oil companies are keen to participate in this event to benefit from scientific papers that are presented and discussed during the sessions of the conference by global experts, officials and executives in the oil and gas sector from different countries of the world. The exhibition also provides an opportunity to experience the latest advanced technologies in the area of geological and geophysical sciences exploration and production technology.
The minister also noted the embrace of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the exhibition and conference of the Middle East Geological Sciences (GEO 2018) 13th edition, after the successes of its previous editions, confirming that the importance of the exhibitions and conferences "GEO" lies in providing the best of modern technologies related to oil exploration and geological sciences, which affected the oil sector in the Middle East and the Arab Gulf area in particular. As well as the vital role in the promotion of the conference tourism in Bahrain and the United Kingdom as the center of regional and international conferences and exhibitions of the relevant task, especially in the sectors of oil, gas and petrochemicals geological sciences, which strengthens trade through the movement of markets and tourist movement and contribute to boosting the national economy.
The minister also confirmed that attracting the regional and global conferences to the Kingdom of Bahrain is a key priority for NOGA investing on unlimited support given to these events by the government on the basis of the strategic objectives of the Kingdom of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 with regard to sustainable human resources development in all sectors including the oil and gas sector, which is a tributary of the tributaries of the national economy.
Ahmed Al Eidan GEO 2018 conference’s chairman and executive vice president - drilling management and technology of Kuwait Oil Company, said that GEO 2018 will be an exceptional platform that would provide all participants unlimited benefits and will open new prospects for the current challenges in the oil industry.
