Bahrain-India health cooperation discussed

Manama, May 4 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh received here today the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Alok Kumar Sinha, and discussed with him areas of bilateral cooperation. The minister lauded the depth of the Bahraini-Indian relations based on cooperation and understanding, which, she said, has enhanced mutual confidence over past years and contributed to improving the health services sector in the two countries. The two sides reviewed areas of cooperation through exchanging medical expertise, treating patients in Indian hospitals and recruiting Indian medical competencies to the kingdom. The also discussed the Doctors' Visits Programme, implemented in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. She expressed hope that the programme would be accepted by the Indian side so that Indian competencies visit the kinmgdom and train Bahrain medical staff. The minister affirmed that the programme, implemented since early January, aims to create a healthy society, noting that the Kingdom's hospitals and health facilities deliver advanced medical services. The ambassador lauded the distinguished services provided by the kingdom, expressing his country's readiness to cooperate with the Health Ministry in implementing the Doctors' Visits Programme.
