Bahrain opens school for Syrian refugees in Jordan

Amman, May 14 (BNA): In line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and under the patronage of Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the RCO Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Sayed inaugurated today Bahrain Intermediate Girls School in Abu Nasir town, in Jordan.
Marking the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser extended heartfelt thanks and respect to HM the King, the RCO Honorary President, for his noble stances in supporting brotherly and friendly countries and peoples. He also paid tribute to HM the King for his directives to continue providing humanitarian aid and assistance to the Syrian people to alleviate their suffering. He hailed the efforts of Jordanian monarch King Abdullah II to back humanitarian work aimed at helping the Syrian people.
Shaikh Nasser underlined Bahrain’s unflinching commitment to supporting the Syrian refugees in light of the humanitarian circumstances they are currently undergoing. He voiced the kingdom’s pledge to continue providing them with the needed services, lauding the efforts of all official and no-government institutions in Jordan which reflect deep-rooted historic ties binding both countries.
The RCO Secretary General extended thanks and respect to HM the King for his kind humanitarian gesture of implementing the pioneering educational edifice, praising the efforts of Shaikh Nasser in backing humanitarian and sustainable development projects. He pointed out that the school serves 665 intermediate female students, from grade 7 to 10, and comprises 19 classrooms, a library, a science lab, two computer labs and teachers’ offices. The school, he added, was designed on the basis of benefiting from solar energy for heating.
Dr. Mustafa Sayed said that the school had been implemented in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Chariy Organization (JHCO), the Education Ministry and the office of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Jordan.
Secretary General of the Education Ministry’s Administrative Affairs, in Jordan, Sami Al Salayta expressed deepest thanks and respect to the Bahraini leadership, government and people for the constant support given to the Syrian refugees and unwavering keenness on carrying out sustainable development projects. He praised Bahrain’s humanitarian stances and pioneering initiatives to assist devastated people all over the world.
Bahraini Ambassador to Jordan Ahmed bin Yusef Al Ruwai commended the royal directives to provide assistance for needy people, paying tribute to HM King Hamad for his keenness on supporting charity and humanitarian work in Bahrain and beyond. He also lauded the efforts of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to carry out the directives of HM the King and alleviate the suffering of needy people in the world.
The Royal Charity Organization has established a number of projects for syrian refugees in Al-Zaatari camp, including the Kingdom of Bahrain's Educational Complex which consists of four schools serving more than 4000 male and female students, the Bahrain Residential Complex which comprises 500 ready housing units, the Bahrain Social Center for Creativity, the Bahrain residential complex in A-Azraq refugee camp which consists of 1,000 ready housing units, and the Bahrain Basic School for Girls in Irbid.
