Bahrain participates in Kuwaiti Women's Day celebration

Kuwait, May 17 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), deputised SCW Deputy President Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa to attend the first celebration of Kuwaiti Women's Day which is marked on May 16. The ceremony is organised by the Cabinet's Women Affairs Committee under the patronage of Kuwaiti Amir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah. Dr. Shaikha Mariam conveyed the greetings of HRH Princess Sabeeka to Kuwait leadership and people on the occasion, lauding the achievements made for Kuwaiti women under the support of the Kuwaiti Amir. She also praised the role of the Kuwaiti Women Affairs Committee in mapping out development plans, making decisions and taking part in their implementation. The celebration was attended by renowned female figures from the GCC countries who were informed about the accomplishments of Kuwaiti women mainly in the health, education, political development and civil society fields.
