Bahrain Pearl Award to be launched tomorrow

Manama, Apr.2 (BNA): The Bahrain Pearl Award will be launched in tribute to the late social work pioneer Shaikha Lulwa bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa. The prize will be inaugurated at the pavilion of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) at the 17th International Book Fair. Bahrain Pearl Award, which will acknowledge writers and researchers who contribute through their writings to developing their communities and disseminating enlightened thought. The prize will be awarded to the winners every two years on the sidelines of the Bahrain International Book Fair. The first award will be presented to the laureate in 2018 with the completion of the Pearl Trail which features on the UNESO list of world heritage sites. The 2016 Book Fair Award was bestowed Hassan Abu Subaih while the Mohammed Al-Banki Cultural Personality of the Year 2016 went to young Kuwaiti novelist Saud Al-San’usi
