Bahrain Post signs cooperation agreement with Bangladesh

Manama, May 14 (BNA): Shaikh Bader bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary of Post, signed a cooperation agreement with Mominur Rahman, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bahrain.
The agreement was part of the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT)s’ continued efforts to upgrade the postal sector in Bahrain and was signed in the presence of Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, and Mohammed Salman Mohammed Shubber, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The new agreement between the two parties will provide convenient passport renewal service for citizens of Bangladesh through Bahrain Post Centres across the Kingdom, making Bahrain Post a link between Bangladeshi nationals and the embassy.
Shaikh Bader stressed the importance of signing such an agreement with Bangladesh, which works to enhance postal cooperation between the two countries, and comes as part of the MTT’s strategic plans to develop an active postal sector that provides value-added services to citizens and residents.
“This joint cooperation agreement with Bahrain Post is a unique bilateral initiative and will open up a new avenue of cooperation between our two friendly countries. The services created by the agreement will hugely benefit the Bangladeshi expatriate community living in Bahrain,” Ambassador Rahman said.
The trial period for the implementation of the agreement will be two months (June - July) and it is expected that approximately 150 transactions will be received daily at Bahrain Post offices throughout the Kingdom.
