The edict was issued for the first time in the country to regulate the practice of alternative medicine including the full terms and conditions of licensing for practitioners, technicians, establishments and facilities to be engaged in this specialty and their classification and the definition of their technical powers, she said.
The Edict defines the legally permissible profession of alternative medicine in Bahrain, including cupping and other traditional Arabian medicine, Chinese acupuncture, Indian medicine, therapeutic massage, orthopedics, and other specialties.
Annex Two associated with the said Edict defines the must-have qualifications and classifies them into physicians, practitioners, technicians. At least two years of practical experience in all fields is a pre-condition for licensure in the field of alternative medicine. Dr. Al Jalahma added.
