Bahrain-Russia ties praised

Manama, Dec. 3 (BNA): Speaker Ahmed Ibrahim Al Mulla has affirmed the importance of the parliamentary cooperation and boosting the bilateral ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation in all fields. Al Mulla praised the supportive stances of Russia and its efforts in combating terrorism, lauding the historic cooperation ties between the two friendly governments and peoples led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Vladimir Putin. He expressed aspiration to boost the economic and trade ties supported by the solid ties and numerous agreements. This came as the Speaker received the Speaker of the Russian Duma, Butachev Russel Borisovich, and his accompanying delegation, currently on an official visit at the invitation of his Bahraini counterpart. Borisovich reaffirmed the Russian Federation’s support to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts in combating terrorism and maintaining its security and stability, and absolutely rejected any external interference in Bahrain's domestic affairs that might undermine its sovereignty and security or threaten its national interests, accomplishments and achievements. The Russian Speaker added that the Kingdom of Bahrain has vital strategic relations with the Russian Federation thanks to the deep-rooted bilateral relations between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Russian President Vladimir Putin, affirming that the volume of economic cooperation and trade exchange will witness more joint projects in all fields especially following the visit of His Majesty the King to Russia and the numerous cooperation agreements signed last year.
