Bahrain Summer Festival concludes

Manama, Aug.19 (BNA): The curtain has fallen on the tenth edition of the two-month Bahrain Summer Festival (2018). Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) hosted a ceremony at the Nakhool Tent near the Arab Fort in Muharraq, being celebrated this year as the Capital of Islamic Culture. The iconic Nakhool Tent has attracted more than 300,000 visitors who attended different events which were line-up for this year’s edition. BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa thanked government and public establishments, as well as embassies for supporting the Bahrain Summer Festival 2018. The ceremony was attended by BACA museums director Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, diplomats, officials representing sponsoring companies and establishments which contributed to this year’s edition. Nakhool 2018 star Sarra Mohammed, who emerged as the winner out of fifty candidates, performed songs on the stage of the Nakhool theatre. Second-placed Maram Jaffer also took part in the final ceremony, displaying her talent in the mental completion which was lined up for the first time. Third-placed Mona Mahjoub also participated in the event and perform on the accordion.
