Bahrain takes part in Human Rights Council session

Geneva, Feb. 29 (BNA): A Bahraini delegation, led by Assistant Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Faisal Al Dussari, took part in the 31st session of the Human Rights Council which kicked off in Geneva today and will continue till March 25. High profile international figures attended the session which is deemed basic for the council's agenda this year. Keynote speakers included the UN General Assembly President, the Human Rights Council Chairman, the Human Rights High Commissioners and the Swiss Federal Minister. The Assistant Foreign Minister stressed Bahrain's success to achieve the sustainable development goals and carry out most of the millennium's goals which were determined in 2015. He was speaking in a top profile discussion session on 2030 agenda for sustainable development of human rights. He pointed out the kingdom's strategic development plan and the royal reform approach which paved the way for the success of the government work spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. He added granting HRH the Premier the Information and Communication Technology in Sustainable Development Award 2015 by the International Telecommunication Union is an assertion of the international recognition of the government's sustainable development achievements.
