Bahrain takes part in WSPU general assembly

Stockholm, Sept. 2 (BNA): Bahrain’s delegation to the 8th General Assembly of the World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU), and its Executive Committee meeting, currently held here, has highlighted the importance of developing a new strategy that motivates more Bahraini youngsters to join the scout movement.
This can be achieved through devising plans and programmes that allow them to invest their potentials in constructive works and contribute to safeguarding them against systematic suspicious campaigns targeting them.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the 8th General Assembly of the World Scout Parliamentary Union, the Chairman of the parliamentary delegation, Fuad Ahmed Al-Hajji said that the kingdom’s participation stems from the Legislative Branch’s belief in the goals adopted by the World Scout Parliamentary Union, including the need to activate cooperation between parliamentary scouts and international agencies to develop legislation and laws relating childhood and youth, and enhance exchange of expertise in this regard.
He expressed hope that the newly-elected WSPU President, the Swedish Ewa Thalen Finne, and three Arab members in the WSPU Executive Committee, will advance WSPU.
