Bahrain tolerance, co-existence model highlighted

Manama, July 21 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan has received the Chairman of the Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Co-existence, Yussef Bu Zaboon, in the presence of the association board members who represent various segments of the Bahraini society. Bu Zaboon highlighted the goals and work plans of the Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Co-existence Chairman regarding its future events and activities that foster the concepts of tolerance and co-existence among religions and cultures in the kingdom. Members also asserted that they had benefited from the tolerance and compassion atmosphere spearheaded in the kingdom by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The minister lauded the good efforts exerted by the Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Co-existence Chairman for the sake of consolidating the concepts of tolerance and peaceful co-existence among the various religions and sects across the Bahraini society. He affirmed that following directives from its leadership, Bahrain is keen to ensure the protection of all religious rights and freedoms, and foster the values of love, cooperation and peace among all citizens and residents. He pointed out that compassion, social justice, respect for the rights of the citizens and residents and protection of all personal and religious freedoms have always been –and will continue to be- the pillars of good governance in the kingdom. Those values are distinctive features of the Bahraini people, he said, stressing the importance of promoting the culture of co-existence and peace worldwide. Bu Zaboon expressed thanks and appreciation to the Labour and Social Development Ministry for its support to the mission of the Bahrain Association of Tolerance aiming to spread the spirit of love and tolerance among the members of the Bahraini society, affirming that Bahrain is a role model for co-existence and tolerance among followers of various religious and cultural components of the Bahraini society.
