Bahrain-UAE cooperation in higher education praised

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 9 (BNA): Secretary General of the Higher Education Council, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, the Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, praised the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the UAE. She stressed that the visit embodies deep-rooted relations between both countries. Dr. Shaikha Rana noted that the memorandum of understanding signed by both countries regarding cooperation in higher education reflects keen interest of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in higher education in Bahrain. She added the memo came as an extension of the distinguished partnerships with the UAE, especially with regard to exchanging experiences in institutional evaluation of the higher education establishments. Dr. Shaikha Rana pointed out common keenness to activate ambitious action plans to meet future aspirations to further develop the higher education sector, improve its outputs and boost its competitiveness regionally and internationally. She also praised the advanced status of the higher education sector in the UAE at the regional and international level, voicing keenness to bring about more joint achievements under the new agreement.
