Bahrain-UK Work Group holds meeting

Manama, June 1 (BNA): Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan has chaired the Bahrain’s side on the joint Bahrain-UK Work Group Meeting. The British side was chaired by Deputy Head of UK National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO). During the meeting, the Chief highlighted the development and modernization of the Interior Ministry’s sectors that have been reinforced by Interior Minister, Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa through a long-term strategy that is based on capability development to achieve security and stability in all parts of Bahrain. He highlighted that the meeting was part of ongoing cooperation and coordination with the two friendly countries and exchanging expertise with developed countries to enhance police work and performance. He highlighted main security challenges that are tackled with the required competency, highlighting the vital role of Bahrain in reinforcing joint counterterrorism work locally, regionally and internationally. The meeting discussed topics of common interest, including security coordination and cooperation enforcement between the two friendly countries and exchange visits, expertise and training technical assistance.
