Bahrain; Union of Saint Kitts and Nevis establish diplomatic relations

New York, Sept.27 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Union of Saint Kitts and Nevis Mark Brantley at the headquarters of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s mission to the United Nations in New York. Following the meeting, the Kingdom of Bahrain has announced the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Union of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Shaikh Khalid said the move reflects the two countries' desire to establish strong friendly relations for common interests, based on the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter and international law as well as the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. He added that the establishment of diplomatic relations would fulfill the aspirations of the two countries to promote strong bilateral cooperation, mutual understanding and coordination on various issues of common concern. In his turn, Mr. Brantley took pride in the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, looking forward to developing various aspects of cooperation between both friendly countries and peoples.
