Bahrain-US defence cooperation discussed

Manama, Mar.14 (BNA): Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander in Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa today received US Defence Secretary James Mattis at the BDF Officers’ Club. The Minister of Defence Affairs Lieutenant-General Youssef bin Ahmed Al-Jalahma and the BDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Dhiyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi attended. The BDF Chief welcomed the US Defence Secretary and the accompanying delegation, hailing deep-rooted historic relations binding the two countries, as well as growing military cooperation. The two sides exchanged commemorative mementos. Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the US Defence Secretary at the BDF Officers’ Club.
