Bahrain welcomes Saudi invitation for OIC emergency meeting

Manama, Sept. 11 (BNA): Bahrain welcomed the invitation of the brotherly Saudi Arabia for an emergency meeting for the foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address the announcement of Israeli Prime Minister of his plan to annex the Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea in the West Bank settlements, if he were reelected on September 17. Bahrain stressed that this invitation embodies the strategic role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, at the regional and international levels, as well as its role in defending Arab and Islamic issues, primarily the Palestinian cause. The Kingdom further hailed the keenness of Saudi Arabia to reach a just and comprehensive peace in the region and to consolidate collective action to counter the challenges facing the international community.
