Bahrain welcomes United Kingdom decision banning Hezbollah

Manama, (BNA): Bahrain has welcomed the United Kingdom government’s designation of Hezbollah in all its forms as a proscribed terrorist organization. "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that this decision is in an important step in the effort to combat terrorism on the regional and the international levels, as Hezbollah imposes a real threat to international peace and security", said the ministry in its statement issued on Monday. "The ministry expresses its appreciation for the tremendous efforts and the strategic decisions of the United Kingdom, adding that such decisions reflect the keenness of the United Kingdom to combat terrorism in all forms and to confront terrorist groups and extremist ideologies." The Ministry stressed the need for the international community to emulate such steps, as well as to enhance mutual cooperation and joint coordination to eradicate violence, extremism and terrorism. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm stance in rejecting terrorism in all its forms and calls for concerted efforts to combat it.
