Bahrain wins two ALO committee seats

Cairo, Apr. 13 (BNA): In appreciation from the Arab Labour Organisation (ALO) for Bahraini women's efforts and their spectacular contributions in labour and social development field, Fawzia Saleh Shehab the Director of Unemployment Insurance Directorate in the Ministry of Labour and Social development has been re-elected as member to the Arab Labour Organisation (ALO)'s Arab Working Woman Affairs Committee for the term 2016-2018. The ALO elections took place during the 43rd Session of the Arab Labour Conference held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on April 10-17. On this occasion, Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan commended Fawzia Saleh Shehab's winning a membership seat in the ALO's Women Affairs Committee on behalf of the Arab governments team besides the winning of a committee membership seat by Afnan Rashid Alzayani on behalf of the Arab business owners team, as a new accomplishment for the Kingdom of Bahrain that reflects appreciation of Bahrain by the trio sides of production in the Arab world and the keenness of the Kingdom's leadership on the provision of optimum means and capabilities to prepare and qualify efficient and qualified national cadres in all labour and social development arenas, thanks to the efforts and initiatives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King and president of the Supreme Council of Women (SCW), for empowerment and inclusion of all Bahraini women to effectively participate in the ongoing national development process.
