Bahraini Ambassador to Belgium hosts reception for female ambassadors, diplomats

Brussels, Mar. 16 (BNA): The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain here organised a reception on the occasion of International Women’s Day, corresponding to the 8th of March, which was themed “Break the Bias”.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Belgium, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al-Doseri, invited a number of female ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Belgium, the European Union and NATO, employees of European agencies and female representatives to the European Parliament.
The Ambassador delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of celebrating this day and the keenness of Bahrain to contribute to spreading awareness about the progress and role of Bahraini women in the comprehensive development process in the Kingdom, and the importance of the global role of women in the development of countries and societies. He also reviewed some of the civiliswational achievements that have contributed to the transition of Bahraini women from the stage of empowerment to the stage of advancement through some indicators and statistics that monitor the progress made in all fields in general, and in the diplomatic field in particular, stressing the importance of women's diplomatic contributions at the international scene.
Two main speakers who participated in the ceremony included the Ambassador of the brotherly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Brussels, Saja Majali, and the Head of MENA Regional Affairs at the European Union External Action Service, Birgit Loeser, reviewed the most prominent policies and experiences in political and diplomatic work.
Ambassador Majali highlighted the efforts to advance women in Jordan, while Ms. Loeser highlighted the importance of international cooperation and access in advancing experiences and practices in the field of women’s rights.
Both speakers praised the Bahraini experience and the achievements made in the field of women’s rights and their contributions to advancing the Bahraini society at the national and international levels.
