Bahraini attends INASGOC preparatory meeting

Jakarta, Mar. 29 (BNA): Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Mohammed Ghassan Sheikho, participated in the preparatory meeting of the 2018 Asian Games Organising Committee (INASGOC), held in Jakarta. During the meeting, the ambassador listened to a briefing by INASGOC Head, Erick Thohir, on the preparations ahead of the 18th Asian Games, to be held in Jakarta and Palembang and met on the sidelines of the meeting, with INASGOC Secretary General, Eris Herryanto. Thohir welcomed the ambassador and expressed appreciation of the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote the 18th Asian Games by hosting the running event on February 13. He paid tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee for his contributions to the sports movement in the Kingdom. He similarly praised the role of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, President of West Asia Athletics Federation and President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honorary President of the Bahrain Sports Federation For Disabilities and Honorary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF). Ambassador Sheikho praised Indonesia’s modern sports facilities and the great efforts it has exerted in preparation for hosting the 2018 Asian Games, wishing this important sporting event every success.
