Bahraini photographer wins first prize in Souk Okaz Festival

Manama, Aug. 12 (BNA): Bahraini photographer Abdullah Ibrahim Al Majid won the first prize in photography in the 10th edition of Souk Okaz Festival which was held recently in Saudi Arabia under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in the presence of Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Makkah Governor Prince Khalid Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz, the Head of the Supervisory Committee of Souk Okaz.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Al Majid expressed happiness about clinching the first prize with his photo which, he said, shows the beauty of the sand dunes in the Empty Quarter and their size compared to human being. He also added that his participation in Souk Okaz Festival was not the first in photography as he had participated previously in Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Creativity Award and bagged the first prize. He stressed keenness on Bahrain’s presence in international creativity gatherings, pointing out the growing importance given to photography as one of the most beautiful arts.
