A total of 48 Bahraini schools ranked above the global average set for PIRLS 2016, which was conducted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA).
Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi extended thanks to students, teachers and parents who all contributed to Bahrain’s outstanding achievements in PIRLS 2016, which attracted 340,000 students worldwide.
Addressing a ceremony on this occasion, he hailed students’ outstanding achievements in TIMSS 2015, science and mathematics which, he said, reflect educational strides in Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Nuaimi then honoured several schools, students, teachers and ministry’s specialists in recognition of their contribution to the achievement.
