Bahraini-Swiss relations reviewed

Manama, Mar. 26 (BNA): Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence and Deputy Board of Trustees Chairman of Isa Cultural Centre Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received today Bahraini Non-resident Ambassador to Bahrain Maya Tissafi who was welcomed by the Deputies Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence, members and Secretary General. Shaikh Khalid welcomed the ambassador, lauding strong and growing relations between both countries. He reviewed ways of boosting bilateral ties for the common interest of both countries, pointing out the growing importance of the centre worldwide, being a major achievement for Bahrain. He also stressed the importance Switzerland as the state of institutions, lauding its role in promoting freedom, international peace, co-existence and pluralism. He pointed out the similarity between both countries in translating the humanitarian and institutional efforts to foster social stability. The Swiss ambassador underlined her country's keenness to further cement ties of friendship with Bahrain, congratulating the Bahraini people on the royal order to set up the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence. She praised diversity, freedom, pluralism and tolerance characterising the Bahraini community, stressing the pioneering role the centre will play at the international level. The Swiss delegation toured the various departments of Isa Cultural Centre and got informed about the services provided for the public. They also visited the National Library at the centre and expressed appreciation of the outstanding level and functions organised by the centre.
