Bahrain's city planning reviewed with expertise firms

Manama, Mar. 13 (BNA): Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Minister and Chairman of National Authority for Urban Planning and Development, Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, on Thursday chaired a meeting of the Authority in the ministry building attended by members of the Authority and representatives from the relevant governmental entities. The meeting discussed and reviewed Bahrain's city planning in collaboration with expertise firms specialised in strategic urban planning from the French Republic as part of bilateral cooperation. According to a presentation by Al-Sharif Faisal bin Jamil Al-Aun, Advisor of the General Directorate of Urban Planning, the details were explained of the national planning initiative including procedures, processes, development of informatics systems and the exchange of data pertaining to planning and surveying as well as the strategy for development of coastal and maritime fronts, as part of the National Strategic Plan. To ensure the requisite degree of smooth project workflow, it was agreed to form a steering committee for the project represented in the Planning and Urban Planning Authority, and a technicians panel from the relevant bodies to ensure smooth project workflow and data exchange.
