Bahrain's coexistence, tolerance atmosphere praised

Manama, Nov. 29 (BNA): Head of French Senate delegation, Senator Jean-Marie Bockel, in a press conference staged by Bahrain News Agency on the sidelines of the delegation’s visit to the country, paid tribute to the atmosphere of peaceful tolerance and coexistence among religions and sects enjoyed by Bahraini society, adding Bahrain's experience in the same area is one to be emulated by the region's countries and must be conveyed to the French and European media. Senator Bockel praised Bahrain’s tremendous efforts in the field of women’s empowerment and the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women chaired by HRH wife of HM the king Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa. He commended her vision for the empowerment of Bahraini women and her knowledge about laws and legislation in the same field. He said joint coordination and cooperation to fight terrorism and extremism have been discussed during his meeting with the Interior Minister. The French delegation is on a visit to the country at the invitation of the Shura Council to discuss cooperation between Bahrain’s legislative branch and its French counterpart, in addition to holding meetings with Bahraini officials and visiting a number of government institutions, including the National Institution for Human Rights, Bahrain Institute for Political Development.
