Bahrain's energy investment opportunities highlighted

Manama, Apr. 5 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Ambassador of France to Bahrain, Cecile Longe, and embassy officials. The minister welcomed cooperation between the two countries in the fields of electricity, water and renewable energy, and reviewed the most important projects implemented in these areas. He spoke about the interest of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to strengthen relations between the two countries. Dr. Mirza gave the visitors a presentation about the Electricity and Water Authority projects, including about the National Energy Efficiency Plan and the National Renewable Energy Plan. He also highlighted the construction of a 100-megawatt solar power plant and investment opportunities available to French companies in this and other projects. The ambassador expressed delight at the progress Bahrain had made in the electricity, water and renewable energy sectors. She expressed the desire of French companies to participate in these projects according to the available opportunities and activate further cooperation in these fields.
